I had an elaborate, well thought out, and almost Shakesperean (minus the iambic pentameter) post about this past weekend's box office numbers. It was almost nirvana, but then Firefox decided to be a little bitch and crashed on me . . . twice. But, I'm still trying to make it work, like an abused woman on a Lifetime movie of the week. I just haven't learned my lesson I guess. I don't have the emotional fortitude to recreate everything that I had written, so I'll just give you the numbers. That, and "Superman Returns" is hailed by the WB as it's biggest 5-day weekend. To them, it officially "kicks ass". Box office analysts, on the other hand, say it only "kicked a little ass" as the "War of the Worlds" remake made more than the underwear-on-the-outside superhero. Whatever, Superman feels like a better movie to me. Total takes for movies in glorious, mono-chromatic bold.
