Proof Positive that Women and Cars Don't Mix

I have always thought that women should only drive when absolutely necessary. Because, for the most part, they can't handle it. I don't know if it's built into their genetic makeup but there's finally video proof that even when trying to drive a teeny-tiny automobile, they still need a man to do the job right. Just imagine if this would have happened state-side. Instead of a little sub-compact, this would have happened with a giant SUV packed full of screaming little ones.

My wife will want to argue over this with me when she sees this. To her credit, I think she drives way better than most women. But, she did just tell me that she almost drove her car off a small ledge where our driveway is while trying to park. So, make your own judgments.

Funny People Trailer

"Funny People" is the latest Judd Apatow movie that people will be loving once it comes out. His movies are poignant and hilarious at the same time. And he manages to make Adam Sandler look funny. Lots of other talented folks are involved in this movie. Seth Rogen, Jason Schwartzman, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, etc. Enjoy the trailer and make sure you catch this in theaters.

When Chris Browns Attack: Rihanna's post Beat-down Picture

And that title for this post if the last joke I'm going to make about this. It's unconscionable what Chris Brown did to his girlfriend, Rihanna. No argument should end like this. The picture was leaked to TMZ.com, hence the large watermark on the image. I don't have much to say about this at this point in time. I'm no fan of either entertainer's musical careers, but I wish Rihanna a speedy recovery and hope that she cuts off all contact with Chris Brown. Because if this happens once, it's bound to happen again.

BAFW's Analog Review - Hulk Vs

I usually do book reviews for Analog Medium, but since I haven't been reading much . . . actually, let me rephrase that, haven't been finishing the books I've started reading recently, I figured I would review this little gem of Marvel animated goodness. You can check out the review here. Much thanks to the gentlemen that run Analog Medium. They're a class act. I think they even liked the review. Go figure. Check out their site and the rest of my reviews out there, and of course, their own content. You won't be disappointed (I think).

New Season of Futurama? Possibly Could Happen Maybe

Billy West, voice actor extraordinaire, was at a convention recently. I don't know which one, but I'm pretty sure that the video above will tell you just which con he was at. But that's not the important part. The important part, to us "Futurama" fans, is that FOX, after seeing how well the re-runs are doing on the Cartoon Network and how well the straight to DVD movies have been selling, is thinking about bringing back the show for a possible new season. Kind of like what they did with "Family Guy", but instead, this show would be good as opposed to terrible. Enjoy the video. There's some pretty good stuff in there. I might even check out Billy West in a live action, non-animated role in the movie he mentioned "Demoted". But that's contingent on "Futurama" getting back on the air.

I am a little worried though. FOX knows how to fuck up a good thing. They just might bring it back to hammer in the final nail in the coffin. But, I'd like to think of myself as an optimist. So, maybe they actually want good television programming on their network. One can only hope.

Pussycat Doll Slips a Nip

I guess the Pussycat Dolls still have a career that involves singing in front of large audiences. I had totally forgotten about them for a long time, but I guess when one of them slips pretty much her whole boob, it's something to take notice off. Nicole Scherzinger can be seen in the picture above (for as long as Photobucket will allow it to be seen) having a pretty blatant wardrobe malfunction. And, there's even a video on Youtube. Embedding has been disabled by request of whomever uploaded it, but you can check it out here. It's a little on the blurry side, but you can make it out the incident happening around 2:15 - 2:25. That's pretty much all I can do to show you folks what happened. If Photobucket takes down the picture (like they most always do), you still have the video on Youtube . . . until that's taken down. Too many nipple-Nazi's out there.

Newest Transformers Trailer

I did not go see the newest "Friday the 13th" movie which had this trailer running prior to it, so I had to wait until yesterday to check it out over at the Yahoo! movies website. And now, YouTube has it. And not just a handycam version of it. The trailer is a series of money shots that doesn't really give me much as far as what the movie will be about. But it also tells me that the movie is going to have some impressive visuals. That, and did the Decepticons get bigger? I'm getting a larger sense of scale from the images in this trailer. In any case, I guess we'll all find out later this year when the movie hits theaters. Until then, check out the trailer. I mean not all the time. I don't want you just sitting here and watching the video over and over again. That would be stupid.

Presidential Action Figures for Presidents Day

Thought I'd celebrate Presidents Day with a little bit of awesomeness from the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan. I guess Barack Obama keeps inspiring change where ever he is heard. He's inspired the Japanese to change the way they see action figures. Because, there he is, immortalized in plastic. And below, things get a bit crazier. You can find more pictures at the following website. I totally want one. But, I don't read Japanese (this is what happens when you drop out of your Japanese class in community college). Inglourious Basterds Teaser Trailer

Get ready to scalp some Nazis this year. Or, at least watch some actors do it under the direction of Quentin Tarantino. This is a remake of the similarly spelled "Inglorious Bastards" that came out in the 70's (I think) and from the look of this trailer, it looks pretty good. I haven't seen the original (planning on it) but I trust Quentin to knock this one out of the park. With a bloody bat. With some brain matter stuck to it. Check out the trailer.

Great Valentine's Day Gift: Chocolate Trailer

While this "Chocolate" is not one that you eat, it will still be a delight for your eyes to see it this month when it's released (if it hasn't already been released). And I love the tag line halfway though this trailer as well: "A special needs girl, with a special need to kick some ass". Just fantastic. This is by the same people that brought us "Ong Bak" so expect no wires and stunt doubles. Just expect to see some gravity defying feats of extreme ass-kickery going on.

Infestation Trailer

I love giant bug flicks. Just ask my wife. She'll tell you that I've been trying to sit her down to watch the entire "Starship Troopers" trilogy and she's only succumbed to the first installment of that. But this movie, set in the present, seems to be skewing towards the more humorous. Which I have no problem with. "Infestation" looks like a hoot and a half. I think it even has some bug-induced and multi-limbed zombie action as well. So, basically your perfect date movie.

Observe and Report on this Red Band Trailer

I know there's a certain "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" movie out there that might have ruined the whole "mall security guard" comedy sub-genre. I haven't watched it, but I heard it was terrible. His name rhymes with fart? No wonder it stinks. If you still have faith in the humor that comes from your mall security staff, then "Observe and Report" is the movie for you. And it's so bad ass, that the studio decided to put out a red band trailer for it. I could have sent you to the movie's webpage, but you have to go through some ridiculous age verification process. But Youtube didn't seem to have this problem. So kids, get your watching eyes ready. This movie has the great Seth Rogen in it. Anna Faris is playing "the hot girl" and even Ray Liotta is in it. Check out the trailer, and get ready to revisit the mall on April 10th.

Christian Bale Loses his Cool on Terminator Set

If you hadn't heard yet, thespian Christian Bale, kinda went nuts during the filming of "Terminator: Salvation". Something went wrong during a scene where the director of photography for the movie, Shane Hurlbut, accidentally (allegedly) strayed into a scene. And then, this happened (link courtesy of TMZ). To tell you the truth, sure, he over-reacted, but he's a human being. Everyone at one point in their lives says (or in Bale's case, screams) something that they instantly regret. I'm sure Bale, in the heat of the moment, wasn't thinking that he had a microphone trained on him and that this outburst would get out into the internets. And furthermore, what's the DP doing in the shot while they're rolling film? I wasn't there, it's very likely that you weren't either, so I'm going to reserve judgment on this. It could have happened to anyone. His indignation might have been righteous. Either way, he's a terrific actor and the movie looks to be pretty good, in spite of emotional and profanity-laced outbursts.

TR2N Footage

The movie "Tron" is not one that I have fond memories of. Sure, I've seen it, but it was a case of the "before my time" situation. It came out when I was just 3 years old, and to tell you the truth, I was not in my sci-fi geek mode just yet. So, while I might not think that a sequel to that movie is something I've been waiting for my whole life, some people out there might, and this is for you. And yes, I think the name is atrocious. I don't like it when people put numbers in the title to get clever. It's totally unnecessary. Like "2 Fast 2 Furious". That was just retarded. But, history is doomed to repeat itself if we don't learn from the mistakes of our past. Looks like we haven't learned yet. Sorry about the video quality. It's not great by any means, but it still beats your Betamax tape of the original "Tron".

Oh, and "The Dude", Jeff Bridges is still in the movie. At least it has that going for it.

Star Trek Super Bowl Ad

What kind of geek would I be if I didn't post the "Star Trek" Super Bowl ad that ran during said sporting event (that yes, I watched . . . for the most part). It's mostly footage that we've already seen in other trailers and TV spots, but damn does it look good. My wife isn't convinced that this movie will be any good. But, I keep showing her these videos, and slowly she might be going from "I'm sure as hell not going to watch that with you, ever!" to "fine, I'll go if you want me to go, but I won't enjoy it". I know that once I get her in the theater, J.J. Abrams will knock her (and the rest of the audience) on her ass with some sweet Star Trek action. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Super Bowl Ad

For some odd reason, Hulu.com was missing this from their roster of Super Bowl ads. But, you can always count on Youtube to have it. This is another movie ad that I happened to catch during the Super Bowl that piqued my interest. I had head that Stephen Sommers, of Mummy and Van Helsing infamy, had been working on a G.I. Joe movie, and to tell you the truth, based on his previous work, I wasn't all that excited about it. But now, seeing this amazing 30 or so seconds of footage, I'm leaning towards slightly excited. It could still blow, and this might be the best footage that the movie has to offer, but I'd like to think of myself as an optimist in 2009. So I'm going to give Sommers the benefit of the doubt, and I'll give his little "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" movie a shot when it comes out later this year.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Super Bowl Ad

Yes, it looks badass. And yes, I am totally going to see this when it comes out later this year. Say what you will about the script for the first Transformers movie, because, overall, it was a fun time at the theater. That's pretty much all I'm asking for right now from my movies. I don't expect greatness. I just want to be entertained. And it doesn't hurt that Megan Fox is back for another helping of robotic action. What? The ladies get Josh Duhamel and Shia LeBouef.
