BAFW's Nature Appreciation - Bullet Owl

Here at BAFW, I don't just appreciate movie trailers and videogames and, in the past, nip slips and upskirts. No, there is a larger scope to my interests. It's not much larger, but it does encompass other things. Like the awesomeness of nature. Evidenced in the picture above. No, that's not the military's next secret weapon. It's actually just an owl in mid-flight, probably getting ready to dive at a field mouse to make itself a tasty lunch . . . or dinner . . . or maybe even brunch. I don't know what time of day that picture was taken, and I'm not sure if this particular owl just sticks to a solid 3 meals a day or if it likes to snack in between. I don't know the bird. But, I do know that I think that picture is pretty kick-ass. Even if it doesn't display the slipping nipple of a Hollywood starlet or the exposed panties (or lack thereof) of a celebutard like Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan.

Although, I wouldn't put it past them to start stuffing bullet owls in their crotch's to attract bird watchers instead of the paparazzi.

We Are ODST Trailer

The new "Halo 3" campaign is due to come out September 22nd. Titled "Halo 3:ODST", it puts you in the boots of an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper rather than a genetically enhanced Spartan super-soldier. But, from the looks of this live action trailer, that doesn't make it any less exciting and action-filled. Did I mention the video is also gorgeous to just look at. It also looks a lot like "District 9". Not sure if Neill Blomkamp directed this or not, but he had directed a few shorts in 2007 for the "Halo 3" release.

This video is also making me yearn for a live action "Halo" movie. It can be done. Just check out the trailer and get ready for a pretty badass experience when it comes out. A movie might just be a pipe dream, but we still get to play the game.

Robo-Poster #3 - Tokyo Gore Police Trailer

Well, this one's a no-brainer. The insanity of Japanese cinema is not often matched by it's Western counterparts. "Tokyo Gore Police" seems to be a shining example of that. I know it has subtitles, but get over it. Reading is fundamental. Plus, from the trailer, the gore effects look top-notch. I don't think I've ever seen that much blood spray in a trailer . . . ever. I don't even know if this movie has a coherent plot. Something about engineers that can graft weapons to open wounds and a lady cop that is hell bent on getting rid of them. Why not? But, again, what do I know. I'm just a robot. Jaime will be back from vacation tomorrow.

Hybrids Get Badass

Looks like Honda and Toyota will be running with their tail-pipes between their legs (or wheels, since cars don't have legs) when this fucking awesome Lamborghini "Estoque" hits the auto markets in the near future. Yes, that's a Lamborghini. Wouldn't you rather drive that instead of a Prius? I know I would. Price point on this car is currently speculated at around $200,000 . . . but come on, saving the world ain't cheap. Wired has all the specs over at their blog network. I could go back there and re-post it here, but I'm too busy drooling over this automotive piece of art. Check it out and start saving some money.

Punisher: War Zone Trailer

It looks like the Punisher is back this year, and it's not Thomas Jane or Dolph Lundgren. I know I've seen the new Punisher somewhere, possibly sporting a British accent, but I can't remember where or when I've seen this new guy. But regardless, other than the shit music they chose for this trailer, it's looking pretty badass. A Punisher movie should feature heaping doses of ultra-violence, and this trailer shows us that in spades. I lost count of just how many heads were either shot off, or punched through, or in a rather inventive case, chaired through. Thanks to IGN for securing this trailer from the San Diego Comic Con . . . I so totally wanted to go, but work always gets in the way.

John Rambo Footage

This is not so much a trailer as it is a selection of scenes that "Aintitcool.com" was able to get from Sylvester Stallone's next resurrection project, "John Rambo". I know it's not the trailer because there's enough gore and almost rape in it that would not be shown during a trailer reel for any of the summer blockbuster movies slated for release. Although, I could see it as a pre-cursor to a "Grindhouse" type of movie. It does have that feel. Specially that scene where he lops of the dude's head on the mounted machine gun on the Jeep, and then he turns it on the driver, and makes quite the mess. I did not watch Stallone's latest "Rocky" movie, but seeing this now, I might rethink that and actually record it whenever it hits HBO or Showtime.

New Transformers Trailer

I had some concerns when I heard that they were making a Transformers movie. It could end up being extremely cheesy or just downright suck-tackular. From the look of the trailers, it's looking like neither, and rather looking pretty fucking awesome. I'm definitely going to go watch this movie on the 4th of July. You should too. It's your patriotic duty to support the most successful American export to the world . . . movies.

Still Drooling - Apple iPhone in Action

Goddamn it . . . I need this phone. And I need a new computer. I hope I get my settlement money soon, 'cause I totally need some of this cellphone action. Hmm . . . that reminds me, I have to call the lawyers. Anyway, check out this video and drool over just how uncool this phone makes your phone look.

Hot Fuzz Trailer - Americanized

I love me some Edgar Wright/Simon Pegg/Nick Frost action. Not in a gay way, mind you. Those British blokes are funny as hell. And, their new movie, "Hot Fuzz" is coming out this year. If you saw their previous movie, "Shaun of the Dead", then you know what you're in for. While that movie added a comedic spin to the zombie genre, "Hot Fuzz" promises to do the same to the buddy-cop movie. You can find the latest, American trailer, with an introduction by the director and stars of the movie here. Quicktime is required. It's worth the download of the player. I mean, if you don't . . . then you're just being an MS-D-bag.

iPhone Dials up my Interest

Well, the time has finally come. The iPhone from Apple is revealed . . . and it indeed does not have buttons. It also does not look like the previously leaked image that can be found in that perma-link there. So, the information was a little off. Who cares, look at that thing. It runs OSX, aka - what Windows Vista wants so badly to be. It's 11 mm thick. That's millimeters. Get metric already. That's 1.1 centimeters thin, or, if you want to use the British measurement scale, it translates to roughly "thinner than anything out there". So, how do you use it? Well, it will have a stylus-free, multi-finger touchscreen interface. It contains motion-sensors to detect orientation. So if you hold it sideways, the display will flip to accommodate you. Automatically senses when you put it to your ear and turns off sound and picture. It connects with your iPod, and syncs with iTunes to show video and pictures and play MP3s. Allows real-time scrolling of music either stored on the phone or through connected iPod. And, it senses ambient light levels and adjusts display to optimum quality. It also gives Jaimes multiple orgasms when you put it up to their ear(s). So, there it is. Who's getting one?

UPDATE!
OMG OMG OMG. This picture is much better than my original picture, and can be found as part of Gizmodo's MacWorld coverage. Thanks to Ryan for bringing that to my attention. This cellphone's like the 2nd coming of Jesus.

The Hills Have Eyes Again

I loved the remake of "The Hills Have Eyes". You can see my gushing review of that here. I had heard that there was going to be a second movie, further extending the story. Well, here's the trailer for that. I hope that the quality carries over into the next entry in the series, that finds some National Guards(wo)men encountering some radioactive freaks in the desert.

Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer Teaser

Can it be? An actual teaser trailer for a movie that I was not particularly awaiting with open arms that has changed my mind. Completely? I was not a big fan of the first "Fantastic Four" movie. But, there is more great action in this minute and a half of footage than in the whole running time of the first movie. So, maybe this will improve on the previous cinematic incarnation. Or, this could be the only good scene in 2 hours worth of crap. Either way, it kicks all sorts of ass. And the Silver Surfer looks pretty damn cool.

Prepare to be amazed here if you have Quicktime. If not, then you suck as much as the first "Fantastic Four" movie.

Early Halo 3 Footage

I was just cruising around the Gamespot website and I came across a link that said something about some behind the scenes video from Bungie. I thought it'd some boring technical discussion on how they're pretty'ing up the next Halo game. Then, as I was watching it, I started getting interested in how they are reworking the Brutes, and then they show some pre-liminary animations of how the behave and they follow it up with early footage of the Master Chief taking them on. Just check out the video here and then curse yourself in anticipation of this because we probably won't see a release of this game until Fall of 2007.

New Transformers Trailer

Holy shit. Micheal Bay just blew my mind. I don't know if there's much that I can say here about this trailer. Other than it kicks copious amounts of ass. Metallic ass, which is the hardest of asses to kick. I'm still trying to pick up my jaw off the floor. More than meets the eye here

My New Favorite Band

These kids are fucking awesome. Look at how they shred on those axes. And the tiny head-banging little girl. She makes all of these nu-rock pussy mall-punk wannabes look like giant vaginas. This is what hard rock is all about. Nevermind that there's a fucking Pikachu on the mic. That just makes it cooler, without having to rely on ironic tight t-shirts. I don't think I've seen something rock this hard since I looked in my pants earlier *wink wink*. Should I be making these kinds of jokes when there are kids in the video. They'd be cool with it. You know why? They're not pussies like those Fallout Boys or 30 Seconds to Mars bitches.

Full 300 Trailer

The trailer for one of next year's most kick ass movies is out on Yahoo, and . . . it's awe-inspiringly jaw-dropping. I know, just like hanging out with me in person, this trailer elicits fits of euphoria and your eyes actually orgasm. What am I wasting your time with words when you could be checking it out. You're in for one wild night.
