Borderlands gets Zombies
"Borderlands" is a great game I haven't been able to get my hands on as of yet. But I will. It's like they grabbed an RPG and fused it with a FPS and added a few thousand guns for you to play with. And now, thanks to the developer, 2K Games, there's now some new downloadable content (DLC) available to buy to further your gaming experience. But, the frosting on the extra gameplay cake is . . . zombies! Check out the video. "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" is out now, so whip out the credit cards and get it for either XBOX 360 or PS3.

The Downfall of the English Language Takes a Pee Break
Every so often, I run across something at work which just makes me think "goddamn G.E.D. is just not enough these days". The picture above is a flier for a fund-raising event at work that was posted above one of the urinals in the bathrooms, hence the title of this post, which is good. I have nothing against charitable donations and it doesn't sound like a terrible event either. You pay 5 bucks and you get to play the latest Madden game on either an XBOX 360 or a Playstation 3 for an hour or so. I don't have a problem with the inherent idea, it's just the execution of the flier that bothers me. And if it hasn't already stuck out like a sore thumb for you, then you might want to consider if you've become part of the problem.
So, right there, in the middle of the flier, in the largest font, someone decided to use the wrong "your". Classic mistake someone would expect to run into . . . in elementary school. But whomever took the time to make this flier isn't in elementary school. They're not even in high school. They've joined the work force, and this is what they're contributing. They're not bringing their A game. More like their D+ game.
But, I can't point it out at work. I had the unfortunate experience of bringing this up to someone who had made a rather nice flier for a baby shower a few months ago, and even though I was well meaning and complimented the flier and the hard work they must have put into it, the person was not all that receptive to my constructive criticism of their work, and just walked away, probably thinking I was a douchebag elitist . . . just because I know which words to use and when to use them.
So, from now on, I don't point this out anymore. I'd rather rant about it here. Where I can say whatever the fuck I want. But at least I'm saying it in a coherent and easy to follow format.

Get Your Game On, Trailer-Style
I have an affinity for videogames. Just something that I grew up with, all the way from my Atari 800XL (the one with the keyboard) through my 8-Bit Nintendo system, to my Super Nintendo and then Sega Genesis. Those were my fondest consoles to date, but that does not mean that my flirtations with the original PS unit and the subsequent dealings with the X Box and the X Box 360 have not been anything but enjoyable. So today, I bring you a couple of game trailers that you should keep an eye out for. First up, Alone in the Dark. For the PS3 & X Box 360. It looks amazing. I really like the music towards the end. Is that a Chinese chorus?
Also included in this post is not so much a trailer but a leaked video of some multiplayer Halo 3 action, still in Beta. This is what the lucky ones who managed to get into the beta testing will most likely be playing in less than a month. The Zanzibar map is a favorite of mine from the Halo 2 game, and it looks pretty amazing here. I also like the new HUD. A couple of new weapons are seen here . . . if you can make them out through the poor quality of the video. Sorry people, it is YouTube. Digging the quad-wheeler.
Suck on those videos and I will post some more as the weeks go by.

Penny Arcade vs. PS3 - KaChing!
Normally, I have a lot to say when posting, but in this case, the guys over at Penny Arcade have done that for me . . . and they even have photographic evidence. If you want to know what you're getting into, it seems that some high and mighty guy at Sony said he would pay anyone that found a PS3 on a store shelf for more than 5 minutes $1,200. The guys went hunting, and here's the result of their short, but very profitable excursion.

Wii Side-Effects
Sony should use the video above as an anti-Wii promotional campaign. It'd be like those dirty political ads you see around election times. Their slogan should go something like this:
"If you get a Wii, you might as well give up on life. PS3"And, they can, of course throw some doll babies that come to life and exploding Rubicks Cubes. I think this video would be enough though.
