Modern Warfare 2: Now with Less Duty
"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" was by far my favorite of the Call of Duty series so far. I liked that the old and tired WWII first person shooter had been updated with weapons and scenarios from today. Which is why I have largely ignored the current Call of Duty game, "Wolrd at War", because the franchise went back to its WWII heritage and left the modern world behind. So here's Infinity Ward, the geniuses behind COD4, with their sequel to that game that drops the Call of Duty and just goes with "Modern Warfare 2". This game is looking amazing. Just check out the 2 minute+ reveal trailer and tell me that you'd rather be playing a WWII FPS as opposed to this.

"V" Gets Trailer'ed
I don't usually post trailers for TV shows, but this one hit a nostalgic bone in me somewhere, and here it is. I used to watch the original "V" when I was a young'un. Now it's back with better effects, better looking actors, and less 80's cheese . . . but will it be good? Or even better than the original. That I don't know, but I guess we'll find out when this comes out later this year. Look for this show on ABC.

Paris Hilton - Up(skirt) to her old Tricks
It's been a while since I've posted anything Paris Hilton related around here. But here she is again, looking for attention the only way a woman with a gaping chasm for a crotch can, by showing it and hoping we get caught by it's gravitational pull. I swear there's a black hole in there somewhere. It's like she's got the Large Hadron Collider in there. Thankfully, she remembered to wear underpants, which your eyes will thank you for.

Natalie Portman's Upskirt Leads to Tumble
Here you have Natalie Portman on the set of "Hesher", a new movie in which she is apparently playing a bit of a nerdy/ugly duckling type of a character. I guess whatever she's doing in this movie involves some horsing around, and that can lead to upskirts that then leads to falling down. But this is a bit of a demure one, because, in the pictures below, you can clearly see that she's wearing underwear under her underwear. Who does that? Anyway, beggars can't be choosers though. So, check these out, and I guess check out the movie when it comes out. If you're into upskirts where there's too much panties.
By the way, whoever this guy is in the pictures with Natalie Portman is not being very helpful. That's not the reaction I would have if I were next to a recently fallen and upskirted Natalie Portman. But then again, that's just me.

Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus - Trailer
Should I even attempt to say anything about this movie? I'm pretty sure the title speaks for itself: "Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus". Did I mention that it "stars" Lorenzo Lamas and Deborah Gibson. And did I mention that I'll probably waste a couple of hours worth of time when it eventually plays on the SciFi Channel in the near future. Because you know it will.

The summer 2009 movie season is in full effect now. All those movies you heard about last year and have eagerly been anticipating are starting to get released to audiences looking to be wow'ed. "Terminator: Salvation" is one of those movies. Apple has a 4 minute extended trailer up on their site that you can view (if you have Quicktime) to get you pumped up and ready to fight SkyNet. Check that out, and get ready for the beginning of the end (just quoting the poster) on 05/21/2009. Click on this link and choose your HD poison.

Katy Perry Finds Inner Child or Midget Version of Herself
I know people like Katy Perry. I don't know why you like her, but at least I know you guys do. This is evident from all the searches that I find, looking for nude pictures of her and the such. So, now I'm catering to the Katy Perry if she were a midget fetishists out there. Don't know where this was taken, but is that really pertinent here? I didn't think so. Enjoy the picture and click on it to make it larger. Keep in mind though, that mini-Katy is actual size. She doesn't actually get any bigger.

The Dangers of Writing About the Dangers of Leaving Seller Feedback on Amazon
Last December I wrote what I thought was going to be pretty much a throw-away post about my experience with an Amazon-affiliated seller. I thought I was just going to say my peace about that retailer's unusual request for me to delete my neutral rating of their service and that would be it. But, apparently, a slew of disgruntled Amazon retailers have come out of the e-woodwork to pretty much crucify and vilify me for having an opinion. You can check out the original post along with the comments here.
I would like to address a couple of quick things here about that. There sure are a lot of people casting stones that shouldn't. If they've ever had an unpleasant or even disappointing experience with a retailer, online or in the real world, they have no business continuing their gripes against me. Because, if they've had a problem with a store, on average, that person will tell 10 people, and those 10 people will also tell another 10 people and so on. It's a domino effect. So that opinion is out in the wild, hurting the business's credibility and reputation, and ultimately, their bottom line (business might be lost as a result of just one single bad comment). I know this because, when I'm not writing silly shit on the internet, I actually go to work for a multi-billion dollar company that knows pretty much all it can know about customer satisfaction and the length that one upset customer will take to let everyone know about their experience.
Simply put, if people are dissatisfied, they complain. Which is what I did. I was dissatisfied with the service, more specifically, the price I had to pay for an item. Which is also something that anyone in their right mind would do. Has anyone ever complained about the cost of concessions at a movie theater? But you still buy them. Or how much they gouge you when you attend a sporting event. Ten dollar cup of domestic beer? What the hell. So I complained about having to pay twice as much as I would have had to pay if the item had been available somewhere else. But the way I complained was by leaving a neutral feedback of this seller's operation, clearly stating that: sure they delivered the product, but they charged me twice as much as Amazon or Target would have for the same item.
Now, I have Amazon sellers calling me trash and wishing to spit on my face and hoping I end up on the streets without a single dollar to my name. Someone even compared me to an AIG executive, which was a bit of a stretch . . . but it was an opinion. Something they are entitled to and it's even protected by the Constitution of the United States of America. It's right there in the Bill of Rights. Freedom of Speech. Right? I didn't just wake up in an alternate dimension where that has gone the way of the Dodo bird. So, why am I not entitled to the same thing. I don't edit or ask the people that write mean things about me to change their opinion but they sure ask me to delete my feedback with pretty much every comment they leave. Some in nicer ways than others. And even if I wanted to, I couldn't because a lot of these comments come from spineless (remember, opinion) jackasses hiding behind the "anonymous" moniker.
I didn't mean any ill-will towards the seller when I left my neutral feedback of their service. I was just relating my experience as honestly as I could. At that time, I hadn't the slightest idea how Amazon really operates (a point that the anonymous people keep making sure I know over and over again, they're like broken records those guys/girls). I didn't know it affects something called "star-rating". And frankly, now that I know, I don't care. A seller going by the name of "Buy-4-Less Shop" shouldn't be selling things that one can find somewhere else (if it's in stock) for twice as much. If they can't sell it for less, then why sell it in the first place. That's almost false advertising.
I'm done with this. Comment as you see fit.

Trailer - One Eyed Monster
The only reason I'm posting up this trailer for a straight-to-DVD movie is because it features the killer penis of Ron Jeremy. Let me explain. Not that I love Ron Jeremy's male endowment, but rather, in this movie, his penis is possessed while shooting a porn movie by an extra-terrestrial entity that kills the infamous porn star, but, keeps the penis alive and no longer encumbered by it's previous human host. The crew and other co-stars of the movie then need to survive the attacks of this phallic monster. Do I want to watch this movie? Sure. Why not. It looks like a fun and campy horror movie. I'm sure there's not much that's scary, and performances might be average at best, but come on. It's a killer penis. Ron Jeremy's penis. Check out the trailer.

Between Two Ferns - Natalie Portman
Zach Galifianakis is a fucking genius. There have been other episodes of "Between Two Ferns", but this one featuring Natalie Portman is at the height of the so uncomfortable it's hilarious style of comedy. And by the way, those are all questions I would ask Natalie Portman. Check out the video and brush up on your interviewing skills.

Plants Vs Zombies
This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. From what I can discern from this rather adorable trailer for the new game "Plants Vs Zombies" is that there are zombies on the lawn, and they want to eat your brain. Your only line of defense is your solar powered garden. Pop Cap games just released this game yesterday, and you can head out to this Fileshack page to download a demo of the game. It's not free, if you end up liking it, you'll have to buy the game for real. But, the premise alone should warrant at least a demo download. If you're an anti-zombie horticulturist, then this might be right up your alley.

BAFW - As Seen on TV Review - 1408
Usually, I don't review things I watch on TV, but since the current economic climate has made it a little bit harder for me to stockpile and amass large quantities of DVD's, I've turned to a service that had gone unused during more fertile and prosperous times: my DVR's On Demand movie feature. This week I was able to catch "1408", a movie based on a Stephen King story, that I had intended to watch, but never got around to catching it in the theaters nor had the opportunity to buy on DVD.
"1408" is about Mike Enslin: a novelist played by John Cusack. Enslin's current bread and butter is writing books about haunted locales. Hotels, graveyards, whatever. He goes there, stays a night, and writes about the place. But he's never seen anything supernatural as of yet. Sure, he's stayed in creepy places, but nothing, as of yet, has made him a believer in the occult.
He's also living quite the miserable existence. Thinking that his best writing days are past him, and having to deal with the loss of his young daughter and a marriage that fell apart, we get to see him check out one of these haunted inn's and some of his mundane day-to-day before he gets a postcard, for "The Dolphin" Hotel in New York, with the cryptic "Don't enter 1408" message written on it. This, of course, is seen as a challenge and Enslin makes sure his publisher puts him in that room for a night.
Also in this movie is Samuel L. Jackson, who plays "The Dolphin" Hotel's manager, a man with two purposes in the movie. Not letting anyone in that room and delivering as much exposition as possible in the shortest amount of time. He's not in the movie much, but when he is, he delivers. Information that is. You get the whole, tragic back story of the room in about 5 - 10 minutes.
But he fails to keep Cusack's character out of the room. His jaded character gets in there, and starts his writing process as if it were any other job he's had before. But, the room quickly makes itself known to him by doing a couple of simple things. Things that rattle the protagonist, but doesn't quite convince him. Then, the room gets violent and gives him 60 minutes to live.
"1408" has its moments. But, it is not by all means, a horror movie. Sure, there are some spooky things happening. But to me, it was more a suspense type of a movie. Did I get scared? Not really. The performances are pretty average. There wasn't much that surprised me or made me want to recommend it. I mean, if it's free and you happen to come across it on TV or "On Demand", definitely watch it. You won't feel like you wasted an hour and 45 minutes. But you will feel like you wasted 15 - 20 bucks if you go out and buy it.
So overall, not a bad movie, but not a great one either. There's a doozy of an unresolved issue towards the end of the movie, but hey, no one's perfect right?
